ICSI means Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection.

ICSI is a process in which a healthy sperm is injected into the cytoplasm of one mature oocyte ( M2 Oocyte ) to enhance to chance of fertilization. At present this is the best & most advanced available method of fertilization in Advanced Reproductive Technologies. Only one sperm is needed for fertilization of one oocyte. We can choose better sperm & oocyte for fertilization so we can have healthy embryo. For ICSI we have a latest ICSI machine – Olympus ix 73 with Narishige micromanipulator.

Indications:

• Oligospermia- count less then 10 mil
• Asthenospermia ( less motility )
• Collection of husband semen by masturbation
• Teratospermia ( sperm with abnormal shape )
• TESA, TESE ( sperm retrieved from testis & epididymus
• Non motile sperm
• Unexplained IVF failure
